OWL Learning Centre

You are here:

OWL (Occupational, Wellness and Learning) is a privately owned learning centre for special needs children. OWL is managed and run by Monika and Barbara Wassermeier, sisters who gave up their corporate careers to pursue their passion and dream, helping special needs children and their parents. Monika and Barbara realised the importance and the need in helping the community with a service that is often hard to come by.

We care for children with age groups that range from 4 to 16 years, but we recommend discussing your child with us should they be younger or older than mentioned.

Every child is unique in their own way, so we evaluate each child according to their disability and milestones to ensure we can assist and take care of them in a way that best suits them.

These children are often not accepted in mainstream or remedial schools, and we create a special place for them where they will feel right at home.

We keep our classes to a maximum of 8 with their own facilitators & Caregivers depending on the children’s needs, and disabilities. Children with their own private caregivers are welcome. As each child is unique, an individual development program is set up for each child to monitor and achieve their goals. Progress is monitored and reported and discussed with the parents or guardians.

We are conveniently located in Bedfordview. OWL opens at 7:00 for convenient drop off and activities are between 08:00 to 16:00. From 16:00 to 17:30 we do constructive play until parents collect their children. On Fridays, we close at 17:00.  We open from Monday to Friday, and we close on weekends and public holidays. We only close during December for school holidays.
